Our History

Grace Chapel began as an outreach to children by a school teacher named Anna Rhett Holladay.  She and her mother went throughout the community on Sunday afternoons to pick up children and bring them to the Oakdale School for Bible lessons.  Interest grew among adults as well and Grace Chapel was created. To this day, we exist to help people find and follow Jesus. We are in a season of renewed passion and commitment to worshipping God, investing in children and youth, growing deeper in His word and equipping people to engage and serve others.

Grace Chapel is a place where you'll be welcomed, encouraged and befriended before you leave. We look forward to meeting you.

We're thankful to have an amazing group of people who serve in various leadership roles at Grace Chapel. Each one pours hours of time every week to provide community, resources or use their gifts that God has provided. Please visit our leadership page to learn more. We are currently rebuilding our general ministries area and hope to have it live soon!

Our Mission and Vision

Our Mission:

To passionately pursue the great commandment and great commission - Loving God and loving others and to lead as many  people as possible into a growing relationship with  Jesus

Our Vision:

Grace Chapel will be a place where anyone and everyone can find a true home, experiencing the presence and power of Jesus and experiencing transformation in every area of their lives.

What We Do

We are passionate about our relationship with Jesus and we practice declaring it regularly

We are intentional about our spiritual growth through study, prayer and serving and in helping others grow

We are committed to creating spaces and opportunities to foster genuine friendships and family

We are proactive and excited to foster connections and relationships with others in order to share what Jesus has done for us

We are diligent to use our skills, abilities and resources to serve others

Grace Chapel has a long tradition of passionately supporting missionary work. We give 25% of our income to missionary efforts to see the good news of Jesus extend beyond our walls.  We provide prayer and financial support to missionary families in multiple nations around the world, as well as local ministry organizations such as the Scooter Scott Project, Mission Lexington, Lighthouse for Life, and International Friendship Ministries. We participate in national and local projects like Operation Christmas Child and Angel Tree.

In addition, our mission starts here and we're committed to loving our neighbors and inviting them into community and to know Jesus.

Our Beliefs

The One True God

There is only one living and true God, revealed in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Jesus Christ

He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, took the punishment humans deserve in his death on the Cross, was raised from the dead on the third day, and ascended bodily to heaven.  He will bodily and visibly return to earth one day.

The Holy Spirit

Equal in substance and majesty with the Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit is the presence of God on earth today

The gift of deliverance from God's judgment, and a restored relationship with God, received by faith without any work to earn it

The Bible

The inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God, the final authority for the believers faith and life, and the standard for truth

The Church

The spiritual body of Jesus Christ on earth, made up of any and all who have genuinely turned to Christ in repentance and faith
